Running Medicine National Grand Rounds Series: "Hip Pain in Runners: Evaluation and Management" with orthopedic surgeon and hip specialist Dr. Bryan Whitfield (Emory University)

Please join us Wednesday, October 9th at 7pm ET for Running Medicine National Grand Rounds Series: "Hip Pain in Runners: Evaluation and Management" with orthopedic surgeon and hip specialist Dr. Bryan Whitfield (Emory University).

Dr. Bryan Whitfield is a fellowship trained orthopaedic sports medicine surgeon at Emory University.  He has been in practice for 10 years.  He has a particular interest in conditions of the hip and treats patients in all aspects of life.  The majority of his practice is dedicated to hip preservation surgery and management of non-arthritic conditions of the hip.  He is dedicated to helping his patients get out of pain and back to activities.  He has a professional and a personal interest in promoting physical activity - and considers physical activity to be important for both cardiovascular and mental health.  Running has always been an "on and off" hobby of his - logging many recreational races.  If it weren't for numerous running related ailments including IT band syndrome, patellofemoral maltracking, insertional Achilles tendinitis and numerous non-running related ailments such as a torn hamstring, 5th metatarsal fracture, and others he would likely be running daily and at a much faster pace than his typical pace.  He has empathy for the injured runner and has experienced hours of dedication to physical therapy and modalities firsthand.  Regardless, he is passionate about the benefits of running, promoting the running community, and returning runners to successful running.
